Jeff Long was 9 years old when he opened his first muscle magazine, an issue of Muscle and Fitness. Soon after he had a dream in his heart and weights in hand.
Long competed in his first amatuer event at age 20, which convinced him to give bodybuilding a serious go. He stepped up to the national amatuer level two years later, but the results weren’t what he expected. Long didn’t place in that competition or the next two that followed. He didn’t let it get him down though, because he knew a career as a professional bodybuilder was what he wanted.
At age 25, Long signed up for the 2009 NPC Nationals and that’s when his childhood dream started becoming a reality. Long has since received his pro card and gone on to compete in numerous events.
